07/09/11 Pendle Witch Child filming: The Upper Library recently featured in the BBC4 documentary The Pendle Witch Child, which was broadcast on the 17th of August 2011 and tells the story of the famous Pendle witch trial. Filming took place in July 2011, and as well as using Queen’s as a backdrop for a portion of the filming the documentary makers also made use of several of our antiquarian books, including our original 1597 edition of James I’s Daemonologie and Thomas Pott’s 1613 The wonderfull discoverie of witches in the countie of Lancaster - a publication by the court clerk of his notes from the trial.
Unfortunately the documentary is not available to view online but a DVD should be available in the Library shortly.
