Saba, Naila.

Naila sometimes read Egyptology at Queen's, but only when she could fit it into her hectic social schedule. Despite this, she managed to graduate (!), moved to Beirut, Lebanon, and is now a wife (!!) and mother (!!!). She has currently resigned from a very glamorous position as the Maybelline Brand Manager at LOréal to pursue her dream of being the next J.K. Rowling, and is labouring over her first tome, a collection of Arabic nursery rhymes

Salter-Duke, Brian James.

Brian (formerly just Brian Duke) read Chemistry and completed a D Phil with Jack Linnett in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory. Since then he has taught and researched chemistry in univerities around the world, including Reading and Lancaster Universities in the UK, Bayero University in Nigeria and the University of Papua New Guinea. He moved to Darwin, Australia in 1986 and was Associate Professor in Chemistry and Associate Dean at the Northern Territory Univerity until the end of 2001. He is now retired. In 2004 he moved to Melbourne where he continues to do some research and is a Honorary Research Fellow at the Monash University Parkville campus.

Sansom, Mark.

A brief career as a clinical scientist in Immunology was pursued at the Churchill Hospital gaining an MSc at St. Georges in the process. However, lack of patient contact led to career re-evaluation. Currently re-training as an adult nurse at Oxford Brookes, due to qualify in June 2004.

Saunders, Peter.

Peter read Engineering at Queens. He spent a few years in industry, then went into banking and property development. He has now re-trained as an osteopath, being so impressed with the results on his recovering broken ankle. He is based in Chiswick, and works with doctors in Acton, (West London) and at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Harley St.

Schmidt, Verena Marisa.

Verena came as a Visiting Student to Queen's and is now studying Composition for Film and Television at the Academy of Music in Munich while finishing her degrees in Musicology and Philosophy. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading, photographing, dancing and listening to music whenever possible.

While at Queens, Toby read for a BA in PPE and an MSc in Comparative Social Policy. Since the Summer of 2001, he has been living in California, pursuing a PhD in Political Science at Berkeley.

Leslie Sebba is Lawrence D. Biele Professor of Law and Criminology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and has in recent years been "returning to roost" - spending sabbaticals and summers in Oxford.

Having matriculated in 1959 to read Law, and briefly practicing as a solicitor, Victor was with Singer & Friedlander from 1968 until 2000. More recently, he keeps out of trouble by chairing three small companies.

Sepulveda, Jr., Juan Antonio.

Juan read for a PPE degree at Queen's and was also a Rhodes Scholar. He now heads an organizational development and management consulting firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, USA whose mission is to help make organizations--nonprofits, foundations, governments, and businesses interested in serving their communities--more effective in the public work they perform and as a result help them build stornger communities across America. He is married to Teresa Nino and they have two children, Michael, 14 and Victoria, 12.

Ian read Mathematics at Queen's between 1979 and 1982. He now lives in an ancient cottage in Malmesbury, Wiltshire with his wife and two cats. He works as a computer consultant for his own company, and currently has a contract in Kidlington. He has recently taken up running, with a half-marathon best time of 1:38:29.

Richard was in banking, for too long; wrote a book, on Warren Buffett; and now provides Buffett style investment management for the preposterously well off and the merely rich. He dreams of Hampstead but lives in Covent Garden with no wife, no kids and one hamster, Susie.

Andrew read Maths at Queen's and went on to be a Fellow of the Institue of Chartered Accountants and left the Profession to work in Financial Services in 1989. He is currently Vice President with Citigroup, the world largest Financial Services group. He is based in London with his wife Anne, their 4 children and 2 Flat Coated Retrievers. Keen interests are Golf, Bridge and keeping pace with the children !

Jervis is Managing Director within Citigroup's Global Transaction Services, part of their Corporate and Investment Bank. He remains a key organizer of the Crocodiles Cricket Club, and plays golf. He is married to an Italian, Daniela, and has a son, Jasper. Relocated from New York to London in October 2004.

Simon speacialises as a media litigation lawyer practising in all areas of contentious entertainment law, primarily for Plaintiff celebrity clients from the film, music and sports world in libel, privacy, confidence, and copyright actions, but also represents several leading UK broadcasters and newspapers, along with Hollywood and independent US/UK/Australian film producers and distrubution companies.

Gareth Smyth is currently back in London after 11 years reporting from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran, and welcomes invitations from old friends for cheese and port. His latest paper - Fundamentalists, Pragmatists and the Rights of the Nation: Iranian Politics and Nuclear Confrontation - was published by the Century Foundation in New York.

Somasundram, Siva.

After completing his PPE degree at Queen's, Siva went on to pursue a career as an international trade policy analyst with the Singapore Government. He spent a considerable number of years as a trade diplomat accredited to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and in that capacity, also served as the Chairman of the WTO Working Party on GATS Rules in 2000. He went back to university to obtain a law degree in 2001 and is currently working in Melbourne, Australia, with a top tier Asia-Pacific law firm. Siva would love to hear from his friends at college and, in particular, the 1988 denizens of the Florey Building.

After over 30 years in law enforcement work I was retired in 2008 with an injury award.
I have started a new life as an art student studying at Central St Martin's College of Art and Design, majoring in Painting in oils and Sculpture.
In 2004 I married Susanna McGibbon a seinior government lawyer and we live happily in the Angel Islington.
My 3 children are all in their mid to late 20s thriving and we remain close

Spilsbury, Mike.

After leaving Queen's, Mike studied at New College and gained his D.Phil.
Since then he has spent two years as a Postdoc studying hydrology in a
remote Bornean rainforest, followed by three years in environmental
consulting. From 1995 he spent ten years working in Indonesia for an
international forestry research centre (CIFOR), and since 2005 has been
employed by the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi to evaluate
large Global Environment Facility projects. He is married to Ronnie and has
3 children.

John read PPE, and moved to San Francisco to work for the M&A group at JPMorgan. He returned and spent three years in private equity in London, before returning to the US to complete an MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He now works in the Natural Resources group at Goldman, Sachs in New York.

After graduating from Queen's, Jake studied for a PhD in physics (quantum computation) at Imperial College in London. He currently works in the City, trading credit derivatives.

Sullivan, Robert.

Robert Sullivan was at Queen's completing a Cert. Ed. at Oxford after finishing an M.Phil. degree at Leeds University. He has taught in Africa and in the United States where he currently a Visiting Professor of English and Modern Culture and Media at Brown Univerity, Rhode Island. He is the author of two books of literary criticism.

Dan was at Queen's as a visiting student. He finished a PhD in Psychology at Stanford University in 1997, and after 4 years living in the Netherlands he is now an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
