Brown, Alistair R.. 1960-1963
Alistair was at Queen's reading Physics. He is now a consulting reservoir geophysicist based in Dallas Texas but travelling worldwide.
Chandrasekhar, B S. 1949-1952
Stations after Queen's: University of Illinois, Urbana; Westinghouse Research Laboratories, Pittsburgh; Western Reserve University, Cleveland; Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland; and finally Walther Meissner Institute, Garching. Short stops in between at Argonne National Laboratory,Bell Telephone Laboratories, Imperial College, Clare Hall, Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Fellow of American Physical Society and of Institute of Physics. Teacher, translater, and researcher in low temperature physics. Admires Einstein, Fermi, Pippard, Bach, Schubert, Beethoven, Thyagaraja, Wagner.
Clinton, J.P. Martin. 1955-1959
Martin lives in Northern California, and owns a telecommunications software company. He is active in the local branch of the Oxford Society.
Costen, Michael. 1959-1962
Michael retired from the University of Bristol in 2004 as Dean of Continuing Education. He is now Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology. Michael published his fifth book 'Anglo-Saxon Somerset' in 2011 and is now working with colleagues on a book on the castles of Stephen and Matilda. In the summertime he would rather be sailing.
Cuthbert, John. 1951-1957
First class in Chemistry, DPhil-totally out-of-touch with chemistry now. Principal of a top management consultancy that he founded in 1983. Specialising in improving organisational planning, performance evaluation, continuous improvement, training and development of all staff, HRD, quality of operations and 'customer' relationships.See Web Site.
Hazel, John. 1951-1956
John studied lit.hum. and taught for 41 years. He is now retired but writing a couple of 'Who's whos' about the classical world.
Hirst, David. 1957-1964
David read chemistry and subsequently obtained a D. Phil under Jack Linnett's supervision. After Oxford he spent a year and a half as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard. While in the U.S. he met and married Judy. He returned to the UK to take up a lectureship in chemistry at Warwick University when it opened in October 1965. His research interests were in computational chemistry and reaction dynamics and he retired as an Emeritus Reader in 2003. Gardening is a major interest and he and Judy open their garden in Leamington Spa for the National Gardens Scheme.
Jennings, Keith. 1952-1958
I read Chemistry from 1952 - 56 and after gaining a D.Phil in 1958, I spent two years at the National Research Council, Ottawa, before joining the Chemistry Department, University of Sheffield in 1960. In 1972, I moved to the chair of Physical Chemistry at Warwick, working on applications of mass spectrometry until I retired in 1997 after which I spent four years working part-time in the Biological Sciences Department. I now live in North Yorkshire enjoying bridge and classical music.
Khanna, Vinod. 1959-1961
1963-94: Indian Foreign Service. Served as Ambassador in Cuba, Indonesia and Bhutan but a lot of career dealt with China. Spent a year at Center for International Affairs, Harvard University, as a Fellow, 1988-89. Co-author of two books: "India and China: The Way Ahead" & "The Ramayana in Indonesia". Now: i. Executive Chairman, The Council of Social Development, New Delhi; ii. Principal Consultant, Tech Mahindra Foundation (a development support organization); iii. Trustee, Pratham Delhi Education Initiative (goal:Universal elementary education); iv. Emeritus Fellow, Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi. V. Trustee, Rajeshwar Susheela Dayal Charitable Trust, Delhi.
King, David Nicholas. 1956-1959
David retired from being Head of Security at GCHQ in 1996. He now enjoys a quiet life in rural Worcestershire, in the lee of the Malverns. He spends his time, gardening, photographing roses, writing the occasional Bridge Book (et al), and running several websites. He is a keen swimmer and jogger.
Morris, John Stanley. 1956-1959
John studied Modern Languages with Ian McDonald (French)and Chapman (Spanish), and is married to Celia Gutierrez and has 4 children. He has worked in marketing / advertising with multinationals in the U.S., Mexico and Venezuela, where he is currently living in retirement.
Moss, John Robin. 1958-1962
Robin read Greats at Queens and enjoyed his four years at Oxford enormously. Captain of Boats 1960-61 he still rows at stroke for the Thames Rowing Club Casuals and Veterans crew as often as possible. Robin now works for the ITC in London, as Head of Education and finds regulation of British television at the end of the 20th century is much enlivened by his PhD (1970) study of the fall of the West Roman Empire.
Muir, Sydney Andrew Macdonald. 1958-61
I continue to live in Leicester with my wife, Ann. Our two children, Graham and Alison also live here and we now have 4 grandchildren. I/we would love to hear from any and all members of that fabulously successful 1958-1961 soccer team and from any linguists I knew.
Porter, Vincent. 1958-1962
After taking a degree in Natural Sciences, Vincent worked for five years making sponsored documentary films with Film Centre (International). From 1967 he taught film and mass communications at the Polytechnic, Regent Street (which was succesively renamed the Polytechnic of Central London, and the University of Westminster). He was made Professor of Mass Communications in 1991, and he retired as an Emeritus Professor in 2004. Between 2005 and 2008, he was the President of EURALVA, the European Alliance of Listeners' and Viewers' Associations. He now lives in Chichester, West Sussex.

Price, Christopher. 1951-1956
Christopher Price taught classics for 10 years after Oxford, was a Labour MP between 1966 and 1983 (with a 4 year gap when he sustained himself through written and TV journalism) and retired as Principal of Leeds Metropolitan University in 1994. Since then he has been a member of the Arts Council, has chaired Yorkshire Arts, founded and edited a bimonthly magazine (the Stakeholder) and is currently chairing a commission to reorganise the terms and holidays of the school year.
Ronhovde, Erik. 1959-1962
Erik read for a D.Phil. in International Relations at Queen's. Since then he has served four years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and Assistant Professor of Political Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, and then fifteen years as a U.S. diplomat with postings in Berlin, Vienna, Moscow, and Budapest. He now works on international exchanges in Washington.
Salter-Duke, Brian James. 1957-1963
Brian (formerly just Brian Duke) read Chemistry and completed a D Phil with Jack Linnett in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory. Since then he has taught and researched chemistry in univerities around the world, including Reading and Lancaster Universities in the UK, Bayero University in Nigeria and the University of Papua New Guinea. He moved to Darwin, Australia in 1986 and was Associate Professor in Chemistry and Associate Dean at the Northern Territory Univerity until the end of 2001. He is now retired. In 2004 he moved to Melbourne where he continues to do some research and is a Honorary Research Fellow at the Monash University Parkville campus.
Sebba, Leslie. 1957-1960
Leslie Sebba is Lawrence D. Biele Professor of Law and Criminology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and has in recent years been "returning to roost" - spending sabbaticals and summers in Oxford.
Segal, Victor. 1959-1962
Having matriculated in 1959 to read Law, and briefly practicing as a solicitor, Victor was with Singer & Friedlander from 1968 until 2000. More recently, he keeps out of trouble by chairing three small companies.
Sibson, Christopher. 1960-1964
Christopher studied Modern Languages at Queens. He is now Secretary General, European Investment Fund, Luxembourg.
Sutton, Graham. 1956-1959
Graham Sutton was at Queen's reading Modern Languages before becoming Finance Officer at the University of Reading. Graham has now retired.
Teague, Anthony G.. 1960-1969
Anthony has been a member of the ecumenical Community of Taize (France) since 1969 and is usually known as Brother Anthony. In 1980 he went to Korea and for over 20 years he was Professor in the English Department, Sogang University, Seoul, teaching medieval and renaissance literature. He has now retired, has been appointed Professor Emeritus, and continues to teach there. He has published more than 20 volumes of English translations of contemporary Korean poetry and fiction as well as an introduction to the Korean Way of Tea. He has Korean nationality, his Korean name is An Sonjae.
Weir, David T.H.. 1957-1961
David Weir was Professor of Organisational Behaviour at Glasgow University from 1974 to 1989, and subsequently Director of the Bradford University school of Management, then Dean and Director of the Newcastle Business School. He is now Professor of Intercultural Management at Ceram, a Grande Ecole in Sophia Antipolis on the Cote D'Azur.Still playing cricket and trying to support Leeds United FC.

Wilcock, John Denis. 1958-1961
John was the Caving Leader of the Oxford University Expedition to Northern Spain 1961. After graduating, he worked in the computer industry for 7 years before lecturing in Higher Education, retiring as Reader in Computing at Staffordshire University in 1997. He is still Honorary Research Fellow at Staffordshire University, and Hon. Secretary of the British Cave Research Association. Besides this he enjoys archaeology, orienteering and Scottish Dancing, as well as running several web sites which may be accessed from his personal home page.
Willcock, John Barry. 1952-1955
After reading history at Queen's, Barry Willcock taught in Cheshire and Yorkshire and became Principal of Minsthorpe Community College in the former West Riding. In 1973 he became HM Inspector of Schools and later Staff Inspector for Secondary Education, a post he retired from in 1992. Since then he has worked as an educational consultant and has recently retired for a second time.
