Queen’s College Medical Society Conference

Tickets are open to all and will include:

  • Sessions by five fantastic speakers from across medicine
  • Lunch and refreshments
  • CPD attendance certificate

First 65 tickets are FREE (to avoid no-shows there is a £3 charge which will be refunded on arrival, excluding booking fee which sadly FIXR keep). Paid tickets are £9.

Speaker line-up:

  • An Interview with Sir David Haslam: Writer and healthcare policy consultant, retired GP and former Chair of NICE, President & Chairman of the RCGP, and President of the BMA. Current Non-Exec Director on an NHS Trust.
  • Talking About Dying with Dr Victoria Bradley: Victoria undertook specialist training in Thames Valley and has been a substantive Consultant in Palliative Medicine at OUH NHS Foundation Trust since 2019, where she is now Clinical Lead.
  • Effective Surgery in Difficult Environments with Mr Tim Goodacre: Recently retired reconstructive plastic surgeon. Background work in resource poor settings, developing appropriate surgical services. Past Vice-President of RCSEng & President of BAPRAS.
  • On Doctors’ Mental Health with Dr Caroline Elton: Occupational and counselling psychologist who has specialised in training and supporting medical students and doctors for the past 25 years. Author of Also Human: The Inner Lives Of Doctors.
  • Tackling Health Inequalities with Dr Gbemi David-West: registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology in Oxford with a special interest in women’s health inequalities, and an MSc in Medical Education.
