The College will be holding a Memorial Service for the late Honorary Fellow Professor Colin Morris in The Queen’s College Chapel on Tuesday 16 August at 2pm. All are welcome.

Professor Morris graduated from The Queen’s College in 1948 and 1951, having read Modern History and Theology, and was made an Honorary Fellow in 2009.  Professor Morris joined Pembroke College, Oxford, as Chaplain and Fellow in Medieval History in 1953. He was Professor of Medieval History at the University of Southampton from 1969 and Emeritus Professor from 1993.

Professor Morris wrote extensively about medieval times in England with a special focus on Christianity during that era.  He was particularly interested in the ecclesiastical and social history of the Middle Ages, and in the crusades, as well as the influence of the Holy Sepulchre on the culture of Western Europe.

Refreshments will be served in Hall after the memorial.
