The Story of The Queen’s College Chapel

15 December 2020

We are very pleased to share our new video about the history and current role of the College Chapel.

Filmed in early October, it was directed and edited by Emily Malden and includes some beautiful new aerial shots and footage inside the Chapel filmed by Jamie Unwin. The College Archivist Michael Riordan sketches the history of the Chapel, which was built in about 1714 to 1719, while Queen’s Chaplain, the Revd Katherine Price, talks about how it is used today, as well as taking us on a visit to the bell tower, a place that few people get to see.

Choir members past and present – Esther Brazil and Jake Sternberg – are also interviewed and Director of Music, Professor Owen Rees, explains how the College has had a remarkable musical life from at least the 20th Century onwards.
