These days are held in Hilary and Trinity terms in collaboration with St Hilda’s College. They are open to Year 10 and Year 12 students attending state schools in Sutton and Surrey.

All visits will include a chance to visit both colleges, meet current students, have lunch in a college and attend an academic taster session.

Wheatley Park Spotlight Project

This project is a mentoring scheme held in collaboration with Wheatley Park School, Oxford.  Queen’s students are matched with year 11 students based on mutual subject interest and are mentored over a series of Saturday Schools to produce a research-style poster on a topic of their choice.

Oxbridge in Cumbria

This is a full day of application preparation held in collaboration with Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. The day includes personal statements workshops, interviews preparation and a Q&A session with current Oxford and Cambridge students.  This event is hosted in rotation by one school with attendance open to all other schools in the region.

Open Days Plus

This scheme is an extended programme of events in June/July for state schools in Lancashire, Cumbria, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool for whom travelling down to Oxford during the school year is not feasible. It offers an extra night’s accommodation for students to stay for one of the main open days plus one day of Queen’s-based admissions support and other academic taster activities.
