Stockholm Syndrome: the joy of staying locked down in Rome

Stockholm Syndrome describes a situation in which a hostage falls in love with their captor. The end of lockdown, or “confinement” as the French call it, on 4th May in Italy gave rise to an unprecedented phenomenon: although no longer afraid of Covid-19, some people were afraid of returning to their old lives which they found alienating and without purpose… They found this purpose in lockdown. 15 May 2020
