Applications are invited for the position of Catering Manager at The Queen’s College, Oxford.

The Catering Manager will be responsible to the Domestic Bursar for the management of the food and beverage services in our College, working in close operation with the Head Chef and the Conference and Events Office, to deliver excellent meals in support of the everyday business and the many College occasions which enhance the reputation and profile of Queen’s and its community.

The Catering Manager should have the passion and drive to inspire staff to achieve the highest standards and share the Head Chef’s and College’s aspiration to have the best catering service in Oxford. They must have the energy and enthusiasm to train staff to reach those levels. The person appointed will have substantial experience of working at a senior catering manager level and will oversee both student dining and the senior common room dining services.

They must be able to demonstrate their expertise in managing and training teams and evidence their knowledge, interest and enthusiasm to provide a superior service, engage with diverse culinary trends and sustainable food initiatives. This role requires great communication skills combined with experience and knowledge of banqueting and wine. She/he will also have a commitment to the values of higher education and be able to work effectively in a small academic community.

The salary range for this post is University Grade 8 (£43,414 to £51,805 p.a.) depending on qualifications and experience. It is expected that the successful candidate will be appointed at the bottom of the salary scale.
