A Place to Meet is our newest blog section exploring how Queen’s opens its doors beyond term time. From academic symposia and residential conferences, to gala dinners and summer schools, Queen’s offers a distinctive setting for all kinds of events. In this series, we’ll take you behind the scenes of the spaces to see the people and possibilities that make Queen’s a memorable venue: one rooted in history but ready for today’s gatherings.
On Friday 11 April, Fellow in Finance Professor Ludovic Phalippou hosted the inaugural Oxford Private Markets Networking Conference, to celebrate Oxford’s successful Executive Education Private Markets Investments online programme, MBA Fundamentals, and Ludo’s Private Equity Institute suite of courses, including the Oxford programme of Valuation of Private Assets. The event gathered Oxford Saïd Elumni, Exec Ed alumni, and high-profile industry guests.
After an afternoon of stimulating talks and a tour of Alice in Wonderland locations across Oxford (Alice is a significant analogy for Ludo’s private markets teaching), guests arrived at Queen’s for a surprise choir performance followed by a four-course banquet and a bespoke Alice-inspired afternoon tea.
Patti Brown, Associate Dean for MBA and Executive Degrees said:
Probably my best event so far since my arrival in Oxford. Bravo for an incredible evening.
