The College is delighted to announce that recent graduate Mukahang Limbu (English and Modern Languages) has been awarded the Harper-Wood Creative Writing and Travel Award by St John’s College, Cambridge.

Just one award is made each year and Mukahang joins an illustrious list of past winners including Thom Gunn, Michael Hoffman, Amit Chaudhuri, and Gaby Wood.

The Harper-Wood Creative Writing & Travel Award for English Poetry and Literature is to encourage a project of creative writing by making it possible for the holder to engage in relevant, project-related travel and study.

Additionally, Mukahang has been chosen as a recipient for the Eric Gregory Award, a literary award given annually by the Society of Authors for a collection by poets under the age of 30. Previous recipients include Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage, and Alice Oswald.

We are thrilled by Mukahang’s success and will be watching with excitement to see what he writes next!
