My favourite memory of Queen’s
Morning sunlight in the Upper Library. Croquet on the Front Quad. Tea and Kitkats at 4pm in the JCR. Bops in the Beer Cellar. The end of my last Finals exam. Too many memories to count, but close Queen’s friends are a shining thread throughout.

I’ve grown to appreciate it more the older I get as a community of brilliant and kind people.
My journey since leaving Queen’s
I’ve spent most of my career in Asia. Having visited Japan one summer while an undergrad, I studied Japanese history, then went straight from the exam halls to Japan to teach English. Returning to London I joined a startup writing about Asian economics and politics and studied for a Masters in Japanese. I wanted to return to Asia so got a job with The Economist Group in Hong Kong. That eventually took me back to Japan – then after the Financial Crisis I returned to Hong Kong, where I’ve been ever since (having studied for another Master’s in finance). Infused by the city’s entrepreneurial spirit I founded my own company, grew it in HK and Singapore, then returned recently to The Economist Group to run its Corporate Network.
