As well as organising regular visits to and from schools (more information here), Queen’s is also committed to developing an ongoing programme of targeted events for link area schools.
If you think that you are eligible for any of these programmes and would like to get involved please contact our Schools Liaison and Outreach Officer. You can also keep up to date with our events and activities by following @QueensOutreach on Twitter!
North West Science Residential
The North West Science Residential is a residential event for Year 12s, hosted annually at Queen's College during the Easter holidays. This event is a chance for young people at state schools in Lancashire and Cumbria to get a taster of what it might be like to live and study at Oxford University. You can find out more about the success of the event in previous years here.

Open Days Plus
This scheme is an extended programme of events in June/July for state schools in Lancashire, Cumbria, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool for whom travelling down to Oxford during the school year is not feasible. It offers an extra night’s accommodation for students and teachers to stay for one of the main University Open Days, plus one day of Queen’s-based admissions support and other academic taster activities. Schools will be contacted in mid-April about registering their interest to bring a group of their most academically capable students on this programme.
Contact our students directly!
We have launched an initiative to allow prospective applicants from all backgrounds to speak with our current undergraduates online. Please do get in touch (or tell your students to!) with any questions about applying to Oxford or life at Queen's.
