Practice resources

We have developed resources for translating poetry, fiction and non-fiction, all of which are available below for French-English/Cymraeg, German, Italian, Mandarin and Spanish. Poetry and fiction resources have been designed as lessons to be run in the classroom with teacher supervision; the non-fiction resources are intended to help students prepare for the competition.

A note for teachers who have previously participated in the prize: You will be familiar with some of the available resource packs from previous years of the prize. We highlight more recent resources in the titles below: ‘new 2022-23’, ‘new 2023-24’. We are reliant on external funding for all of our resources, and publish new resources when funding permits.
