The Deputy Librarian manages the student-facing library service, including book purchases, provision of an enquiry service, managing a small team of library staff and planning user education. She is also responsible for internal accounting and administration, compliance with the Equality Act and assisting with access needs, as well as deputising for the Librarian in his absence.
Matt is responsible for the care and development of the College’s library collections and services. He has previously held roles in national and academic libraries, and has a background in eighteenth-century history.
The Assistant Librarian is responsible for the behind-the-scenes processes which ensure the smooth running of library operations. These primarily include cataloguing both new and antiquarian material, maintaining the accuracy of the SOLO database, and ensuring the smooth running of the library management system. She also oversees the physical processes which ensure books can be located on the shelves.
