Writer and translator David Brazil will read his long poem Mnemosyne (Erotoplasty, 2022) in its entirety.  The reading will be followed by a dialogue between Brazil and respondent Sarah Pritchard on themes of composition, translation, memory, and history, as well as a question-and-answer period.

David Brazil is a poet, novelist, and translator.  He is the author of nine books, including The Ordinary (Compline, 2013), antisocial patience (Roof, 2015), and figurae (The Last Books, 2022).  His collection Holy Ghost (City Lights, 2017) was nominated for the California Book Award.  With Gary Sullivan, he has prepared the first book-length collection of translations from the work of Austrian poet Ernst Herbeck, forthcoming in 2026 from World Poetry.  He lives with his family in Spain.

Sarah Pritchard is a dancer and swimmer.
