The Ioan James Reading Room
the Ioan James Reading Room at the Queen's College, Oxford

The main part of the New Library houses all the reserve circulating collection in roller-racking, half the current circulating collection on static shelving (the rest is in the Lower Library), and the reference collection.  There is space for a 25% increase in the working library collections spread across the Lower Library and the New Library.

In addition there are 36 new reader spaces including shared tables and individual study carrels, all of which are accessible to a person in a wheelchair. All of the reader spaces benefit from natural light and views up to the west façade of the historic library. There is Wi-Fi throughout the New Library and power points at every desk. The main part of the New Library also provides access to assistance during staffed hours, catalogue terminals and several display cabinets for exhibitions.

The Ioan James Reading Room is accessible to students 24/7 on a swipe card system.
