Extraordinary Junior Research Fellowship in Physics

8 March 2016

The College is pleased to announce that Dr Jelmer Renema has been elected to an Extraordinary Junior Research Fellowship in Physics with effect from 1st April 2016.

Dr Renema is a physicist specializing in quantum optics. He obtained his doctorate from Leiden last March with a thesis on the working mechanism of nanowire superconducting single-photon detectors.

His research project at Queen's will focus on implementing non-universal models of quantum computation and quantum simulation, using photon-number resolving detectors.
