New Junior Research Fellow in Astrophysics appointed
The College is pleased to announce that Dr Emilio Bellini has been elected to an Extraordinary Junior Research Fellowship in Astrophysics with effect from 15 May 2017.
Dr Bellini completed his PhD in Physics (2013) at the University of Padova, Italy, with a thesis on the growth of cosmological structures in alternative theories of gravity. After a short period visiting the University of Heidelberg he has held a research position at the University of Barcelona. His research was devoted to study the nature of gravity on cosmological scales by scrutinising the evolution of linear and non-linear perturbations in an expanding universe. Since October 2016 he has been a Beecroft Research Fellow in Astrophysics, and his focus is mainly on the development of fast and reliable tools to solve the evolution of the universe in modified gravity models. In his spare time he enjoys public engagement, cooking, music, getting outdoors and sports.
