What Queen’s means to me
A welcoming, relaxed environment, and so much sport!
My journey since leaving Queen’s
I went straight into teaching unqualified at Highgate School – there is no requirement to be qualified in the independent sector and Highgate have a strong background in training new teachers.
After three years I gave academia another shot, starting a funded 1+3 course of a Masters followed by a PhD in Stats and OR at Lancaster Uni. Not long into the PhD itself I realised it wasn’t for me and moved back into secondary education.
I taught for four more years at Highgate, before moving to Westminster School for five years, and then up north to join a specialist maths 6th form college (Lancaster University School of Maths). After three years up there, I’m now making the move back to Westminster School again.
