Introduction
I joined Queen’s college as an undergraduate mathematics student in 2021 and graduated from the integrated master’s degree in 2025, at which point I commenced postgraduate studies under the supervision of Professor Jose Antonio Carrillo and Dr Jakub Skrzeczkowski. Before coming to Oxford, I grew up in southeast London when I attended Colfe’s school for GCSE and A-Level.
Teaching
I teach the applied mathematics courses to first- and second-year undergraduate students at Queen’s, as well as being a teaching assistant to third-year courses at the Mathematical Institute. Having been on both sides of the Oxford tutorial system, my aim as tutor is to facilitate a discussion around the problem sets, which is primarily directed by the students towards areas of the course in which they feel uncertain.
Research
My area of research is in partial differential equations, which provide a mathematical framework under which to model a variety of physical systems in natural and physical sciences. Many such systems are fundamentally comprised of large numbers of interacting “particles”. These could be literal atoms, say in a gas, but also cells in a biological tissue, animals or people in a population, stock prices in a market, or many other applications. If we have a clearly defined interaction at the microscopic level of the individual, an interesting question is then to ask what emergent behaviors we expect at the macroscopic level of the population.
