Fergus Garwood joins us as Domestic Bursar from a career spanning more than three decades in the Royal Air Force. Fergus has seen operational service in Afghanistan, The Baltics, Bosnia, Croatia, Iraq, Kuwait, and the Broader Middle East, and served at home with both the MOD and HM Treasury. As Station Commander at RAF Halton, the initial entry point for non-commissioned personnel, he led multiple cross-functional teams to manage the estate and deliver the RAF’s basic training. Recognised as delivering recommended best practice, their work was subsequently adopted across the RAF.
Fergus led the RAF’s preparation and execution for both Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and HM The King’s Coronation, before a final year spent seconded to the Cabinet Office supporting the Prime Minister and National Security Council. Educated at King’s College London, he lives in the Cotswolds with his wife Kate.
As the Domestic Bursar, Fergus has responsibility for all domestic matters in College, including accommodation, catering, events, fire, security and safety, and is assisted by the Deputy Domestic Bursar, Sarah Daley.
