Elly is the Coordinator of the Queen’s College Translation Exchange. In this role, she oversees the Translation Exchange’s programmes and activities, including the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators and the Creative Translation Ambassadors scheme. She supports the collaboratively delivered Think Like a Linguist programme and facilitates the Translation Exchange’s annual programme of public events and languages advocacy work. 

Before coming to Queen’s, Elly worked in Access and Outreach and as a university lecturer. In early 2025, she completed a DPhil in Modern Languages with a thesis dedicated to contemporary francophone women’s writing. 

In her spare time, she likes to read and write fiction and poetry. She also takes part in teaching French studies, literary criticism, feminist philosophy, and creative writing at Oxford and elsewhere.
