As the Schools Liaison, Outreach and Recruitment Officer, I am responsible for working with schools, students, and teachers, primarily those from our link areas of Cumbria, Lancashire, Blackpool, Blackburn with Darwen, Lewisham, and Sutton. My role is to support students from backgrounds that have traditionally been underrepresented at Oxford University, providing them with information, advice, and guidance about university, life at Oxford, and how to make a competitive application.

Throughout the year, we welcome students to Queen’s for taster days with their school, residentials (including our North West Science Residential), and the University Open Days. I also visit students in their region, delivering talks and workshops in schools, colleges, or at UCAS fairs. I manage the Queen’s Outreach Instagram account (@queensoxaccess), allowing students who are unable to visit us in person to find out more about life at Queen’s.

Students and their supporters are always welcome to get in touch with me via email ( to ask any questions about applying to Queen’s or to Oxford more generally, to arrange a visit, or to discuss ways that I can support them in finding out more about higher education.

I attended a non-selective state school in Leeds, before moving to Oxford for my undergraduate degree in French and Spanish and MSt in French at Worcester College. Prior to joining Queen’s, I worked in access and outreach at Wadham College.
