2023

Dear Junior Members,

If you would like to stay on in College later than the end of this term on Saturday 17 June at a cost of £17.67 per night, you need to apply for permission by completing an online request, using your single sign on account.

Vacation residence online applications OPEN at 8:00am on Sunday 21 May 2023
Online applications CLOSE at 11:55pm on Friday 26 May 2023.

Applications made after the deadline will not be accepted.

Those who have exams during 9th or 10th week DO NOT need to apply and have automatically been granted permission to remain in their current term time room until the day after their final exam. This will be charged to your battels at £17.67 (the usual standard vacation residence rate). An email has been sent out on Monday 15 May 2023 confirming each student’s departure date. If you did not receive the confirmation email, and believe you are required to stay up, you NEED to apply for vacation residence.

You are reminded that there is no automatic right to stay in College and further details of the College’s Policies and Procedures regarding Vacation Residence can be found in the Rules and Regulation for Students, together with information on the limited storage available in College for international students during vacations.

Please note that when vacating a room you must completely clear all of your belongings, and leave your room and ensure keys are returned to the Lodge by 10am (students in Cardo can leave the keys to the caretaker in Cardo). When moving to a different room and when returning for Michaelmas Term, the room can be accessed from 2pm.

If you need to temporarily store your belongings on your departure date after 10am while you wait before leaving/moving to another room, you can use the following spaces:

  • Main College: JCR
  • Carrodus Quad: down to the gates (it is undercover)
  • St Aldate’s House: the kitchens
  • Cardo: living room

For those that will be completing their course this Summer and leaving Queen’s or going on their year abroad, you MUST remove your bicycle from College property and you are not permitted to leave any belongings in storage.
