Congratulations to all the winners of the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators 2022!

The competition ran for the second time in February-April 2022. It ran across 4 levels in 5 languages, covering all year groups at secondary school from age 11 to 18. For the first time this year the competition also ran from French into Welsh.

Over 14,000 students took part in the competition task, and schools submitted the top five entries for each level. Our team of 36 judges then assessed over 3,200 entries to the competition.

Across the six strands of the competition running this year, our judges have selected 24 national winners, 20 national runners-up, 182 area winners and 216 commended entries. Congratulations! All receive certificates, and national winners receive book prizes.

The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators is an initiative of the Queen’s College Translation Exchange.
