Queen’s welcomes graduate students who wish to study physics at doctoral level in any of the research areas offered by Oxford Physics. Research takes place at the Department of Physics and full details of the graduate courses available can be found on the department’s website. There are three Physics Fellows and a College Lecturer at Queen’s:

Dr Richard Nickerson, who specialises in Particle Physics;

Prof Robert Taylor who works in Quantum Optics and Condensed Matter Physics;

Prof Ghassan Yassin who works in Astrophysics and Radio Astronomy;

Dr Jenny Barnes who specialises in Condensed Matter Physics.

There is a vibrant community of undergraduate and graduate physicists at Queen’s, with social and academic events taking place throughout the year.

The College is keen to support physics education at school level and is very happy to consider PGCE applications.
