Updated statement on admissions

17 August 2020

As a College, we have been continuing to review each case in which a UK-based student failed to meet the terms of their offer, treating with increasing scepticism the evidence provided by the flawed A-level standardisation model.

On the basis of our reviews, we have decided this afternoon to confirm the places of all those who hold conditional offers. Due to the small number of cases, and the need to protect the confidentiality of the individuals involved, we do not propose to release further details about them.

We have since become aware of, and welcome, the government’s decision to abandon its standardisation model.

We recognise the uncertainty and anxiety affecting everyone connected with A-levels and admissions over the last few days and are grateful for the resilience of all those concerned. We look forward to welcoming all the students joining or returning to College in the new academic year.
