Congratulations to all the winners of the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators 2023!

The competition ran for the third time in February-April 2023. It ran across 4 levels in 5 languages, covering all year groups at secondary school from age 11 to 18. The competition also runs from French into Welsh.

Over 15,000 students took part in the competition task, and schools submitted the top five entries for each level. Our team of 36 judges then assessed 3,500 entries to the competition.

Across the six strands of the competition running this year, our judges have selected 24 UK-wide winners, 20 UK-wide runners-up, 189 area winners and 215 commended entries. Congratulations! All receive certificates, and national winners receive book prizes.

The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators is an initiative of the Queen’s College Translation Exchange.
